Cancer Council Victoria offers care to those affected by cancer, their families, and their communities. Our cancer nurses provide counselling and help navigating the health system. We also provide specialist socio-cultural support for especially affected communities, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders, LGBTQIA+, and Culturally and Linguistically Diverse communities. The commitment to supporting cancer patients extends from our earliest history, when Cancer Council Victoria operated patient care facilities, provided transport to care for rural and regional Victorians, and attempted to ease the economic burdens of cancer for those Victorians most in need.
