The Victorian Preceptor Program (VPP) is a state-wide collaboration between Cancer Council Victoria (CCV), the University of Melbourne (Melbourne School of Population and Global Health) and Sexual Health Victoria.
The VPP was established in 2006 by CCV and the then training providers Family Planning Victoria, University of Melbourne (Department of General Practice) and Melbourne Sexual Health Centre. The aim of the VPP was to provide a collaborative and streamlined approach to precepting nurses undertaking cervical screening training.
The vision of the VPP is to support health practitioners to become competent and confident cervical screening providers. The values of the VPP are respect, collaboration, quality and leadership.
The VPP has developed a database of all preceptors currently registered with the VPP in Victoria. This database is intended for students currently completing a cervical screening provider course to locate a provider close to them.
If you require further information about the VPP please contact us via certification@cancervic.org.au or phone 1800 111 255.
