For all that cancer takes, give today

Please support cancer research that will save lives and keep families together.

Every day, 400 Australians just like Lou are diagnosed with cancer. And with every diagnosis comes the heartbreaking reality for them, and their loved ones, that it could take their life.

Lou started treatment just days after her devastating diagnosis when she began the intravenous chemotherapy that would hopefully save or, at the very least, prolong her life.

But the aggressive form of breast cancer she had would not respond to treatment and after trying everything she could, Lou died. She saw her children and sister one last time, before taking her final breath in her husband’s arms.

Cancer took so much from Lou and her family. Today, you have the opportunity to give all you can to support cancer research and find the breakthroughs needed to save lives.

We know that research works, we know it is already helping to save lives every day. While we have come such a long way, we still have so much more to do to ensure people, like Lou, can live beyond a cancer diagnosis.

Frequently asked questions about donations

How do I make a donation?

There are many ways you can make a donation. We take donations online, over the phone, and in cash. Now that you're here, the easiest way is to use the form at the top of this page.

Where does my money go?

Your donation will go to supporting Cancer Council Victoria's mission towards a cancer-free future.

  • Cancer research and clinical trials

  • Prevention of cancer through lifestyle education

  • Education about cancer and cancer treatment

  • Support for people diagnosed with cancer and their loved ones

Our mission is to eradicate all cancer. We cannot guarantee that your donation will go directly to ovarian cancer research, for example. Your donation also does not go to Cancer Council Australia, which is a separate organisation. Instead, it will go to local initiatives and support services in Victoria.

Will I receive a tax receipt?

Yes, you'll receive a tax receipt on any donation over $2. This will allow you to claim your donation come tax time. Most donations to charity offer the same benefit.

You can use the tax receipt for your donation to claim a deduction at tax time through the Australian Tax Office's online portal. If you have a personal income tax agent, they can submit the deduction on your behalf.

How do I support through regular giving?

If you're looking to do more than donate on a special occasion, you can! Becoming a regular giver is the single most impactful way you can help people diagnosed with cancer. Regular Giving contributes hundreds of thousands of dollars per year.

You can become a regular giver here. You can also get involved in other ways, like fundraising, volunteering, or leaving a gift in memory.

Thank you for donating towards a cancer-free future.

Your donation has been processed and a receipt sent to your email address.

Thanks to you, we're one step closer to the next breakthrough needed to save lives. You’re helping cancer researchers ensure more Victorians can have successful cancer treatment.

Your kindness is truly saving lives.

Thank you
