Examining the anti-cancer properties of gamma delta T cells

What is the project?

Recently, we have identified a novel subset of immune “gamma-delta T cells” in humans. We will explore their anti-cancer potential, which may potentially lead to new immunotherapy treatment regimes in the future.

What are you trying to achieve?

The immune system is central to our defence against many diseases, including cancer. However, sometimes cancer can evade or even suppress the immune system. We are trying to find ways to overcome these roadblocks and enable our immune system to more effectively kill cancer cells.
