A big warm welcome to our new Gifts in Wills Team member, Mel Coles! Some of you may have had the pleasure of chatting to Mel already, and she is looking forward to speaking with more of you as the year progresses. Mel has been working with Cancer Council for a number of years, is a big fan of scary movies and once worked at Disneyworld in Florida! Mel is also a keen gardener who loves taking her dog for a walk. Get to know Mel a bit more here.
What have you liked most about the new role so far?
Getting to meet and talk to all of the wonderful people who support Cancer Council Victoria. I love hearing the stories and experiences of so many different people. If they’d let me, I’d keep them on the phone for hours just listening to them talk about their lives.
What are you looking forward to in the role?
Giving the best possible experience to people who are leaving a gift in their Will to Cancer Council Victoria, and those who are thinking about it. Also, making sure I keep people updated on the important work taking place in cancer research and the support that they help make possible.
Where has been your favourite place to travel?
New Orleans was incredible, it felt like being in another world. I would love to visit Canada and experience a white Christmas there.
