Being diagnosed with cancer can cause an immediate impact on your financial situation, and create additional stress and concern during an already difficult time.
This may be the first time you have had to organise important legal documents, such as life insurance and a will, to help plan for your future and support your loved ones.
You might have to reconsider your current budget to help pay for the costs of cancer, such as medical expenses and travelling to treatment.
We have developed a series of fact sheets about common legal and financial issues for people affected by cancer.
The information covers key topics including paying bills and debt, superannuation and patient transport after a cancer diagnosis, as well as the importance of preparing key documents and managing finances after death.
We hope these resources provide support to you, and your carer, family and friends throughout your cancer journey.
