Chinese Cancer & Chronic Illness Society of Victoria
The Chinese Cancer and Chronic Illness Society of Victoria (CCCIS), formerly the Chinese Cancer Society of Victoria, is a volunteer-based charity founded in 1996. Over the years, as more volunteers joined the society to offer support to others and to bring back their strength, confidence and hope, CCCIS extended its services to offer individual family support provided by social workers to individuals who are affected by chronic illnesses such as cancer; support groups facilitated by social workers and trained volunteers, such as cancer, Parkinson's Disease and dementia groups for people living with these chronic illnesses and their carers to share experiences and to offer mutual support; other recreational and wellbeing programs such as gardening; regular community education seminars and webinars; and additional supportive services to individuals in need, such as Chinese Free Meals, end-of-life ancillary support, carer respite, equipment loans and wigs.
