Make a lasting contribution in the fight against cancer when you celebrate your next special occasion (e.g. wedding, birthday, anniversary, christening, Christmas or Bar/Bat Mitzvah).
By donating to the Cancer Council or asking your family/friends to do so instead of presents, you will help thousands of Victorians facing cancer.
1. Ask for donations instead of presents
Ask family and friends to help you celebrate your next special occasion by donating to Cancer Council instead of buying you presents.
To make it easy for you to ask your family/friends to donate to the Cancer Council, we can provide you with donation envelopes to include with your invitations.
In recognition of any donations received, you will receive a special gift card with the donor’s name on it and any special message that they would like to pass onto you. We will also provide you with an accumulative total of all of your donations after your celebration.

2. Give a donation instead of a present
Celebrate your family/friend’s special occasion by donating to the Cancer Council in their honour.
After receiving your donation, we will send a gift card to those celebrating their special occasion, with your name and special message written on it (the donation amount is not included). Donations of $2 or more are tax deductible.
3. Donate in lieu of wedding bonbonnieres
Give your wedding guests a unique and meaningful thank-you gift, or remember loved ones who can't be there to celebrate your special day, by donating the money you would have spent on bonbonnieres to the Cancer Council.
As our way of thanking you for your kind donation, we will provide daffodil lapel pins for each of your wedding guests and wording suggestions that you can use to create your own place cards (to let your guests know of your kind donation).
There is no minimum donation required. Donations of $2 or more are tax deductible.
Please allow one week to receive your lapel pins.

Donors and fundraising supporters who contribute $5,000 or more are invited to accept a Research Award. The award can be in your name, your organisation’s name, or can be named in honor of someone you care about. You will be acknowledged for your generosity in the Cancer Council Annual Review.
Types of Research Awards:
- Donor Research Award
For donors contributing $5,000 or more in a given year or wanting to fund a continuing Research Award.
- Fundraising Research Award
For fundraising individuals or teams raising $5,000 or more in a year, who choose to allocate this money towards a particular cancer research area.
- Corporate Research Award
For corporations that make a donation of $10,000 or more in any given year.
